Used 54,000 TPY Formaldehyde Plant built in 1987. This plant uses silver catalyst based conversion of methanol to produce 100% formaldehyde, which then can be diluted to different concentrations. The conversion rate of methanol to formaldehyde is 1.19 : 1.00. A major expansion took place in 1997, adding a new distillation column and saturation column, and replacing sections of the absorption column. The plant ran for up to 6 consecutive months before its catalyst change.
