Overview

Used PVC Plant built in 1978. The Polyvinyl Chloride PVC plant consists of 6 Autoclaves, which are split up into two streams. 1 x 80m3 autoclave that is classed as Stream 1, and 5 x 40m3 autoclaves that make up Stream 2. There is also an unused spare 120m3 autoclave shell. Both streams have separate stripping (tray columns) and drier systems (3 stage.) and can be operated independently to produce two different grades of PVC ranging from K57 to K70 chain length. The main grades that have been produced on the plant have been mainly K66 and K70 but K68 and K58 have been produced for trials in the past. The plant is operated and controlled by a ABB mod 300 DCS system. The plant also has a VC recovery system to recover the unreacted VC gas from the Autoclaves.
