Used 260 TPD Methanol Plant designed for two basic modes, 1) Low Carbon Concept, 2) Carbon Dioxide Addition. The Low Carbon Concept process route is based upon the production of methanol using only natural gas as feedstock. Synthesis gas obtained from natural gas by the Low Carbon Concept process route contains a large excess of hydrogen over carbon compared to the relative amounts required for stoichiometric methanol synthesis. If the excess hydrogen is combined with more carbon, more methanol is produced. This plant is designed to achieve such an increase in production by Carbon Dioxide Addition which yields 20 percent more methanol, for a similar amount of natural gas feedstock, than is produced by Low Carbon Concept operation.
