Used 25,000 BPD Crude Refining Unit (Topping Unit) built in 1940. The unit was designed to process two types of crude oil feed: light crude of 34° API and heavy crude of 20° API. The unit is designed to be able to reprocess 1,500 BPD of out-side off-spec naphtha in addition to and concurrent with the 25,000 BPD crude fractionation. Provisions are included to handle off-spec conditions either (1) for too high a vapor pressure or (2) with too high an end point. Alternate feed locations are to the Main Fractionator for conditions (1) or to the Naphtha Stabilizer for condition (2). Process Temperatures: Crude Charge 100 °F, Naphtha Product (max) 100 °F, Kerosene Product (max). 125 °F, Diesel Product (max) 150 °F, Atmos. Gas Oil (max) 175 °F, Residual Fuel Oil 200 - 300 °F. Column size basis 87% of flood (max). The Naphtha Stabilizer is designed to stabilize the light naphtha product (Pre-flash Tower Overhead) to 9# RVP (max). Design includes capability for re-running up to 1,500 BPD of off-spec.
