Used 60,000 TPY Formaldehyde Plant, Built in 1987, Reactor upgrade in 1992, and Shut Down in 2012. Two (2) independent reactors, each 30,000 TPY capacity. Iron molybdenum based catalyst from Sud Chemie, Topsoe, Lonza, Perstrop or other suppliers. 8052 stainless steel tubes in each reactor. Tube diameter 25.4 mm, thickness 1.65 mm, length 1000 mm. Formaldehyde product concentration 37 – 50 wt.%, methanol less than 1 wt.%, formic acid less than 200 ppm. Consumption per metric ton of formaldehyde 37% product: 415 kg methanol, 85 KWh, 450 – 500 Kg process water, 600 Kg steam (produced). Potential to produce urea formaldehyde. Four (4) Used 25,000 TPY, 25,000 TPY, 32,000 TPY and 35,000 TPY Formaldehyde Plants built in 2012. Produce 37% – 48% formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde precondensate (UFC). Plants shut down in 2012. All plants use tube reactors filled with pellets of iron-molybdenum oxide catalyst. These plants can be operated independently, or combined together for production at a larger capacity.
