Overview

Phoenix Equipment Corporation has this used Urea plant immediately available. Urea is formed by injecting carbon dioxide and ammonia in the top of the reactor at elevated temperatures and pressure. The Urea Reactor is a lined pressure vessel designed to 2,350 psi and 400 F. Normally the vessel operates as a flooded vessel. It is provided with weep holes to detect leaks in the interstitial space between the liner and the shell. Nitrogen is forced through the weep hole system and bubbled through a solution that would change color upon detecting ammonia; thereby indicating a loss of integrity of the liner. The weep hole detection system is segregated into several zones, which are provided with nitrogen flow meters to ensure continuity of flow through the weep hole system. Log records indicate that this phenolphthalein solution is inspected on each shift. Ultrasonic inspection is reportedly done on the liner every three years. This plant is a part of an ammonia and urea production facility. Review Plant # 207 for the information of the 1,100 TPY ammonia plant.
