Used 12000 ton-per-year Glycerin to Epichlorohydrin plant. Commissioned in 2012 and shut down in 2013. The plant consists of two production trains:
1 - Glycerin purification unit, the technology and designer are DBO (Desmet Ballestra Oleo). 96.5% final product (Technical Glycerin) is obtained after 80%-85% crude glycerol goes through multi-stage distillation and rectification.
2- Production of dichloropropanols (DCP). Technical glycerin is subjected to multistage hydrochlorination by wet and dry method to obtain the final product (DCP) during the process. DCP is the intermediate product for the production of EPI, the plant has no process equipment to produce Epichlorohydrin from DCP. The plant has on-site railroad that has access to a major seaport.
