Used 2,810 TPD MTBE/TAME (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether / Tert-amyl Methyl Ether) Plant. The process consists of the following basic steps: (A) Reaction: reacting isobutylene with methanol to produce MTBE/TAME; (B) Purification: Separation of MTBE/TAME from the butane/n-butylene and excess methanol stream; (C) Methanol Recovery: Recovering the unreacted methanol for recycle to the reaction step and producing a methanol-free butane/n-butylene stream for other chemical or refinery uses. (D) Oxygenate Removal: Removing DME from the butane/n-butylene stream to produce an HF alkylation feed stream.
