Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Systems take equalized effluent, normally water with suspended waste such as oil or grease, from the plant send it through floccualation tubes - into the main tank. The liquid is then introduced to a solution of high-pressure water that has air dissolved into it - the air attaches to the sludge and floats it to the surface - where a skimmer removes it for disposal. DAF technology commonly used in treating the wastewater from petrochemical and chemical plants, oil refineries, paper mills, and wastewater treatment facilities.
