The price of a new pellet mill can be significant. Luckily, Phoenix Equipment provides high-quality and reliable used pellet mills at a fraction of the cost.
We sell both large and small-scale pellet mills:
Large scale mills fall into two categories: flat die and ring die mills.
Flat die mills utilize a flat die with slots. The powder is placed in the top and as the die rotates, a roller presses the powder through holes and into the die.
Ring dies utilize radial slots throughout the die. Powder is poured inside the die and spreaders evenly distribute the powder.
Small scale mills are basically versions of a hydraulic press or a screw press (since the same process is used for both).
A die (or a mold) contains the uncompressed powder in a shaped pocket. A platen is attached at the end of the ram (in a hydraulic press) or a screw (in a screw press) which compresses the powder.
