Overview

Currently operating ferric chloride plant using batch process designed by Nomexem B.V. of The Netherlands. This plant consumes 7346 tons of red oxide (67.43% Fe), 31316 tons of hydrochloric acid (31% HCl), 446 tons of iron metal (100% Fe) and 892 tons of chlorine (100% Cl2) per year. It produces 40000 tons per year of ferric chloride solution (40% FeCl3) which is used as a water treatment agent. The plant includes several process sections: 1. Pre-chlorination, 2. Terminal chlorination, 3. Sedimentation, 4. Chlorine gas scrubbing, 5. Gas scrubbing for hydrochloric exhaust air, 6. Sludge processing.
