Never used, never installed PET SSP pilot plant. This batch production of Polyethylene Terepthalate (PET) uses Dimethyl Terephthalate (DMT) and Ethylene Glycol (EG) as basic raw materials. DMT can be melted from recycled PET bottles or purchased virgin DMT from market. The plant is divided into five steps: Premelting system, Ester Exchange system, Polycondensation system, Chip Making system, Solid State Polymerization (SSP) system. DMT specification: white flake or powder, purity >= 99.9%, melting point 139 – 142 °C, acid =< 0.03 mg KOH/g). MEG specification: transparent or clear liquid, purity >= 99%, total aldehydes =< 75 ppm, water =< 0.1 wt%. Utility consumption per ton of PET: power 684 KWH, cooling water 140 tons, natural gas 36 Nm3.
