Molecular Sieve Dehydration Unit - 3.4 MMGPY

Molecular Sieve Dehydration Unit - 3.4 MMGPY

Stock # 601
Capacity 3.4 MMGPY
Products Dry Alcohol (> 99.5 wt%)

Overview

The molecular sieve dehydration unit is designed to remove water from feed stream containing alcohol. Process flow rate approximately 2,000 Lbs/hr of feed stream containing 90% of ethanol. The final dry alcohol product has water content less than 0.5 wt.%. The liquid feed stream is first vaporized in vaporizer and superheater (to assure maintaining a vapor state) and then passed through the adsorption column (molecular sieve towers) which is filled with molecular sieve beads. As the vapors pass through the molecular sieve beads, the water vapor selectively is pulled out of the remaining alcohol vapor and adsorbed inside the beads. The remaining alcohol vapor continues to pass through the column beads and finally condenses at condenser and is collected in the alcohol receiver tank. Refurbishment is available.
