Phoenix Equipment Corporation has this used Fertilizer Granulation Pilot Plant immediately available. Major process equipment was refurbished in 2011. Phosphoric acid is pumped onto the granulator bed which is several inches deep in the rotating granulator. A ring in the granulator controls the bed depth, which is constant. Anhydrous ammonia is both fed into the pipe reactor combined with the phosphoric acid and sparged beneath the bed. The other dry ingredients are metered and conveyed into the granulator bed through the dry feed elevator. In addition to the raw materials, recycled fines from the mill and screen underflow are recycled to the granulator at a ratio of approximately 2 to 3 lbs recycle per 1 lb. of feed material. Scrubber water is injected onto the bed to help control granulation. The reaction in the granulator between phosphoric acid and ammonia is highly exothermic which drives off moisture, heats the bed, enhances granulation rates and reduces the drying heat load.
