The complete soda caustic plant uses bi-polar membrane technology. In addition to the core electrolysis process, brine preparation, chlorine gas recovery and anhydrous caustic soda production sections are available. The evaporation produces 50%, 72% and 98% liquid or flake products. The technology combines conventional electrolysis for salt separation with electrolysis water splitting for the conversion of salt into its corresponding acid and base. Bipolar membranes induce the splitting of water into protons and hydroxide ions.
